GraysPapaya8thAvenueAnd37thStreetThere are few food places in Manhattan that I has as much of a warm spot in my heart as Gray’s Papaya.   The 24/7 run hot dog establishment with its 4 locations has embed itself into the personality of the city.   If you are looking for a good meal and only want to spend 3 dollars, get the “Recession Special”, which is 2 hot dogs and a cup of one of their main fruit juices.  For this price, you won’t find any better food in the Upper Westside.

Ellen's Stardust DinerNow, Ellen’s Stardust Diner may not the cheapest restaurant in the theater district but you do get something that really makes it worthwhile, free dinner entertainment.  This restaurant has been a start for many Broadway hopefuls.   But until they break into the business, they are able to serve at this restaurant and to sing to the adoring patrons of the dinner.   This is the best family restaurant I know in the entire tri-state region.
