Best Eats For The Buck

With as many different countries in the world, you have so many wonderful choices when it comes to trying to something new.  Then you find something like a Knish, though I am sure some people like this potato cake, I definitely am not one of them.  Most street vendors in NYC have these and I have never seen one of them that looks at all appetizing at all.

Now, I don’t judge a food without at least trying it twice.   That is my golden rule, if you can taste gross twice then you will never enter my mouth again.   You have to give it up that the first time, it may have not been made properly but if isn’t good the second time, you need to cut and run!

I know it is convenient but let’s be honest, fast food is as healthy and tasty as cardboard.   But there is restaurants that are just as easy to go to without you sacrificing you health for whatever dollar special sandwich you are thinking about buying.

Try going in actual dinners or stopping by grocery stores deli.   Their food will be better, just as cheap and won’t lead to the decay of the modern world.   Fast food is being blame for a lot of the obesity that america suffer with .  Don’t be that guy!

I have to give them credit, Opentable has a great business idea and the programing to make it happen.   Their strategy is having an online site where you can make your reservation at any restaurant and change even change them on your smart phone.

With all the smartphone apps, I really like how easy to use this was.   And it also was much easier for us then worrying about if we were going to seat or not for dinner.  Now, if they could find a way to tell me what the specials for that night, this site would have everything.

If you are paying full price at the restaurant, you are paying too much.   There are so many discounts out there that I am pretty sure, if you search hard enough I am guessing there is a deal for any restaurant.

These are the two sites that I use on a regular basis.  If one of them doesn’t have the gift certificate, the other one usually does.  The thing with these sites, at least right now, is that you have to wait for what you buy to come in the mail.   I hear rumors that that is going to change soon and you would get a text message or email that would work, but not yet.   So if you are like me and go out often, check out these bad boys – Restaurant and Citydeals

It is a sad day for my family, it has just been announced that McGrath’s Fish House has filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy.   Now, this is quite saddening but the companies don’t plan to close the doors quite yet. So there is still hope to save them.

The stores will close independently if they do close from the inability to pay their rent or other payments.   So if you are a fan like I am, this is the moment to rally to your closest McGrath’s and show your patronage.

This restaurant is seriously reason to go to Milwaukee alone.  I love this spy themed restaurant!!  Though I would love to tell, I have been sworn to secrecy but for some reason, Google maps does not have that same secret pact going on.

Rooms open up in the walls and tables come out of the floor.   While your meal here, you have the choice to go on a hunt to find out the secret password for the next time you visit this restaurant.    Oh yes, the first time you enter this restaurant, you will have to earn your passage by some funny act that the rest of the patrons will be able to watch on the video screens.   Go here and have one of the most fun dinners in a while.

There are few food places in Manhattan that I has as much of a warm spot in my heart as Gray’s Papaya.   The 24/7 run hot dog establishment with its 4 locations has embed itself into the personality of the city.   If you are looking for a good meal and only want to spend 3 dollars, get the “Recession Special”, which is 2 hot dogs and a cup of one of their main fruit juices.  For this price, you won’t find any better food in the Upper Westside.

Now, Ellen’s Stardust Diner may not the cheapest restaurant in the theater district but you do get something that really makes it worthwhile, free dinner entertainment.  This restaurant has been a start for many Broadway hopefuls.   But until they break into the business, they are able to serve at this restaurant and to sing to the adoring patrons of the dinner.   This is the best family restaurant I know in the entire tri-state region.

Well, it’s that time of year again, time for Thanksgiving and Black Friday, the two busiest days of my life. One day I spent cooking and eating the greatest food on Earth, then I have a midday nap and I get ready to stand out in the cold so that I can get amazing shopping deals.   Now, if you are like me, you won’t want to cook for about a week after this blessed holiday.  I don’t blame you at all; in fact I have a plan.  My master plan this year is to get gift certificates that at a discount on sites like citydeals or others and then use them for restaurants the rest of the week.  If I am not going to be making dinner for a little while, as I recoup I don’t want to pay full price.

I started my search for good food without the huge cost in Salt Lake City, Utah.  This city actually has quite a variety of cuisine for a usual city it’s size.   People from around the world have come to this beautiful mountain city and made it quite tourist attraction.  There are two places that really stand out in my mind in the quantity and quality category.

The first place I recommend is a Breakfast and Lunch dinner called “The Park Cafe”   This cafe overlooks Salt Lake’s largest park and has a youthful feel to it.   The portions of everything you order there are large.   To give you example of what I mean, if you order a hamburger here, the patty is so large that it hangs off of bun on all sides.   The dish that I feel in love with is called the “Michigan Hash”  It is a mix of all of favorite breakfast foods served on a mountain man’s size plate.  You will not regret any food here.

The second restaurant is a little little hole in the wall place called “Moochies”  I first came upon this place because of it bright yellow exterior and it’s claim of authentic phillysteak  sandwiches.   They were very true to their word, I haven’t had this tasty of a sandwich outside of PA itself.   They also have many other delicious sandwiches including their Meatball subs.   If you want to have these delicious meals,  watch your schedule, they have limited hours but they are worth it.

During the week I am constantly on the go and usually have to work late. Dinner usually is an activity that has to fit in my schedule as well as my budget. I want to grab dinner where I can get the best deal for my dollar. Times are hard right now I don’t need to be spending extra money just on eating out …. My pocket book would not be happy!
